Terms of Service
These terms set the rules for using Chat Of Our Own during beta. By visiting the site, creating an account, submitting feedback, or using the app, you agree to follow these rules and understand that access can be limited if they are broken.
Last Updated
July 6, 2026. These terms may change as CO3 grows. Continued use of the beta after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
Who Can Use CO3
- You must be able to agree to these terms.
- You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You must provide accurate account and contact information when requested.
- You may not share, sell, transfer, or misuse another person's account.
Allowed Use
CO3 is for character-focused writing, roleplay, fandom discovery, persona creation, conversation testing, and feedback during beta. Use the service in good faith and follow the community guidelines.
Rules You Must Follow
- Do not harass, threaten, abuse, stalk, or target other people.
- Do not submit content that sexualizes minors or appears intended to exploit children.
- Do not use CO3 to impersonate another person in a misleading or harmful way.
- Do not upload or request content that is illegal or intended to help commit harm.
- Do not spam, scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service.
- Do not evade bans, rate limits, moderation tools, safety checks, or account restrictions.
- Do not submit malicious code, phishing links, credential requests, or deceptive forms.
- Do not use feedback, reports, or support channels to abuse the team or other users.
Your Content
You keep whatever rights you already have in personas, messages, feedback, reports, names, tags, and other content you submit. You give CO3 permission to store, display, process, moderate, copy, and use that content as needed to operate, protect, debug, support, and improve the beta.
Public archive listings can be viewed by other users. Private personas, private chats, account settings, drafts, feedback, and connection settings are not meant to be public archive content, but they may still be processed by CO3 systems, infrastructure providers, and authorized admins when needed to provide, debug, moderate, or support the beta.
AI Features And Model Providers
CO3 uses AI models to generate drafts, compile runtime persona briefs, review persona fields, run roleplay chats, and support debugging or quality tools. Depending on your connection settings and the feature being used, requests may be processed through CO3-managed providers or through a provider key you bring yourself.
- Integrated provider options may include OpenAI, Gemini, and DeepSeek through Fireworks when enabled for the beta.
- Some automated persona and review tools may use CO3-managed OpenAI access even when a different chat model is selected.
- Bring-your-own provider keys remain your responsibility. Do not paste API keys into chats, personas, reports, screenshots, or feedback fields.
- AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, repetitive, badly formatted, or inappropriate for the scene. You are responsible for reviewing what you save, publish, or rely on.
Fandom And Third-Party Rights
You are responsible for the content you submit and the way you label it. Do not claim ownership of characters, settings, trademarks, or works that are not yours. CO3 may remove or restrict content if there is a rights concern, safety concern, or platform risk.
- Fandom labels are for archive organization and discovery, not proof of ownership, affiliation, licensing, or endorsement.
- Users may not sell, license, commission, paywall, or monetize fan personas, fan chats, or fanfiction based on copyrighted material they do not own through CO3.
- Original user contributions remain subject to the permissions in these terms, while rights in underlying source material remain with the original rights holders.
Moderation And Enforcement
CO3 may review activity, reports, feedback, and submitted content to enforce these terms and the community guidelines. Enforcement can happen with or without advance notice.
- Remove, hide, edit, or restrict content.
- Limit, suspend, or terminate accounts.
- Block access from accounts, devices, networks, or other identifiers.
- Preserve reports, logs, and account records for safety, security, or abuse review.
- Decline support, feedback, or appeals submitted in bad faith.
Beta Service
CO3 is provided as a beta service. Features may be incomplete, changed, limited, interrupted, reset, or removed. Data may be corrected, migrated, or deleted as part of testing, maintenance, abuse prevention, or product development.
Beta access is approval-based. CO3 may grant, limit, pause, or revoke app access or integrated model access during testing.
Account Deletion
During beta, account deletion may remove sign-in access only, or it may also remove owned CO3 data such as private personas, public personas, chats, memories, feedback, profile, and access rows, depending on the deletion mode used by admin. Some audit, security, moderation, abuse, support, provider usage, or legal records may be retained when needed.
No Professional Advice
AI responses, personas, roleplay content, and user-generated content are for creative and entertainment use. Do not rely on CO3 for medical, legal, financial, emergency, or other professional decisions.
Disclaimers
CO3 is provided as is and as available during beta. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any generated or user-submitted content will be accurate, safe, or available forever.
Limits On Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, CO3 and its operators are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost access, lost profits, or harm caused by user content, AI output, beta interruptions, or misuse of the service.
Reporting Problems
Use the feedback form to report bugs, safety concerns, rights concerns, account issues, or suspected rule violations. Reports should include enough detail for review.
